The best way to ensure you will receive a service is by scheduling an appointment!
For tattoo appointments please submit an inquiry form or send an email to goldenmothart@gmail.com. If there is an artist available, they may choose to take a walk in, however by walking in you are not guaranteed an appointment. You can follow us @GoldenMothStudio or check out and follow our artists for any last-minute openings, cancellation spots or walk-in availability.
For walk-in piercings, jewelry changes, troubleshooting or checkups we can accommodate only if our piercers have time. You can book an appointment directly off our booking site or call us at (312)-323-1287.
Clients with appointments will take precedence. If you choose to walk-in, please be prepared to book an appointment at a later time if there are no same day time slots.
When visiting, you can park on one of the surrounding streets or in the Saint Anthony Main Parking Ramp.
Street parking is paid and is limited to 6 hours. If you are planning a longer tattoo session, we recommend the parking ramp.
Free parking can be found further east on University Avenue & on various side streets within several blocks.
We recommend arriving early to your appointment to ensure parking space is accessible. In summer months, parking can be heavier and you should plan ahead accordingly!

There is a 10-minute grace period for piercing and tattoo appointments. Anything after 10 minutes may require us to reschedule your appointment.
Please try to come early to your appointment to ensure parking, traffic or any other factors do not cause you to miss your appointment time.
Each client for both tattooing & piercing can have ONE additional guest with them during their appointment. Additional guests may be asked to wait in the lobby or in the common area of the Saint Anthony Main building. Space is limited and we appreciate your understanding and respect for our artists and other clients!
If you are looking to book a group of people, we will need to know in advance to be able to accommodate.
For tattooing, please make sure your artist is fully aware that you will be part of a group during any consultations or inquiries. Due to space, there will still be only one additional person allowed to be in the station at the same time and all other group members will need to remain in the lobby area until it is their turn.
For piercing, booking online will not guarantee group accommodation. The best way to book piercings for a group is to call us and plan ahead.
Additional guests are at the discretion of your artist or piercer and based on space availability.
MINORS: Any minors receiving a piercing requires the parent or legal guardian to be present in the room and studio with them at all times. If you are bringing more than one person under the age of 18, additional guardians will need to be present, and both parties may be required to remain in the lobby or building common area.
We are inspected and licensed by the City of Minneapolis Health Department and meet or exceed all Minnesota standards.
Each artist and piercer holds a license through the State of Minnesota & hold a current and valid Blood Bourne Pathogens Certification.
Golden Moth is a fully disposable studio, meaning that all items that come into contact with bodily fluids are disposed of and replaced with brand new materials for each client.
This includes (for tattoos), new single-use needles, disposable grips, disposable ink holders, disposable razors and disposable barriers covering everything that is used during the tattoo procedure.
In each piercing room you will notice a machine called a Statim. A Statim, through the use of steam and pressure eliminates all bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms, ensuring that nothing harmful is left on the equipment used for piercing. All tools, needles and jewelry go through a cycle in the Statim prior to each service. Needles are single-use and disposed of immediately, tools are disposed of and all equipment is properly cleaned after each use.
Statims are tested bi-weekly to ensure cleanliness.
Yes! We are located within the Saint Anthony Main building which does not have stairs at the recommended entrance.
There are elevators in the parking ramp on each end of the underground pass, and our studio is safe for those in wheelchairs.
** The pathway outside is cobblestone and may be a touch difficult to navigate at times. If possible, having someone drop you off as close to the door pictured below is ideal as it would require minimal cobblestone pathway. Or utilizing the underground tunnel as the flooring is a smoother finish.
✧ Proper identification is non-negotiable. If you do not have an ID present, your ID is expired, or do not have the required documents for renewal or when bringing a minor, you may be rescheduled until proper documentation can be given.
✧ If you are pregnant or newly breastfeeding.
✧ If you are taking any medication that is unsafe to receive services while taking (blood thinners, Accutane, etc.)
✧ If you do not have the proper anatomy (for piercing). After consulting with your piercer, you may learn that the piercing you had in mind may not work with your anatomy. We want any piercing done within our studio to heal as best as possible! Having different anatomy than required is a bummer, but our piercers will always work with you to try and find a solution or recommend other options. If you don't wish to have a different service done you can always reschedule and re-think your options at no cost.
✧ If you have applied numbing cream WITHOUT consulting your tattoo artist you may have to reschedule an appointment.
✧ If you are under the influence.
✧ If you appear to be ill or under the weather.
✧ If you are treating anyone in the studio or building with disrespect, we will not tolerate unkind behavior and ask that you leave.
If you have questions about any of the information listed or questions about something specific to you and your appointment, please give us a call at (612)-363-1287.
